Background development

[edit]

Prasher announced in late-1999 that he was uniting with Culture Club and Dead or Alive to plan a revolutionary tour to protest gay rights and help the LGBTQ community gain more freedom and self-respect. Throughout the tour Prasher brought out special guest celebrities who stood up for and supported gay rights. Half of the proceedings from each tour date would be donated to supporting LGBTQ communities in every city and state that the tour visited.

The tour was announced in December 1999 as a joint tour by Prasher and Culture Club, supported by Dead or Alive. It was titled as, "The Gayest Tour" as a form of self-mockery to show strength and power. The tour would kick off on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2000 in Prasher's hometown of Los Angeles, California; Prasher stated, "the primary reason for this tour is bring the LGBTQ community together and spread love, so we want to share that love within our community and beyond on one of the corniest days of the year in which we celebrate love, Valentine's Day, therefore it's the perfect opening night."
