I am a gay married pagan polyamorous bear living in Canada, and am an outspoken advocate of gay rights,
I am also a Graduate Gemologist and have worked in the retail jewellery business for a little over 33 years.
During that time I had the opportunity to work with a lot of very knowledgeable people. While growing my personal experience with diamonds, gemstones and jewellery, I operated a number of jewellery stores.
After this amount of time in the business I decided that it was time to move on to something different, so that I could keep challenging myself.
Though I still stay in touch with gemological news and advancements (as well as a lot of my friends and former co-workers in the business) I decided to enter a fairly different career path.
One day a few years ago I helped a customer who was an instructor in a local web development, software programming and graphics college. When I talked to him about his school, I became interested in the ASP.net Software Development course that they offered.
I checked it out, and found that I was very interested, and enrolled. Though it was sad to leave my friends in the jewellery business, they all wished me the best.
I've been working with an I.T. security firm doing their web and software development, and have been having great fun.
p.s. I've used the Canadian spelling for jewellery (before anyone points it out) lol.
