Dipesh Vedak (born 14 February 1994) is an Indian Traveller and Blogger. [2] In 2017, More than 2000 readers registered on his blog citynextdoor.com before it's launched. His first post, 10 reasons why, which was his own life story was published in 2017 and got a huge response from readers. Till now, many articles authored by him have been published in many local newspapers as well as on his own blog.

Early Life

Dipesh Vedak was born on 14 February 1994 in Mumbai in an ethnic Marathi Brahmin family to Mohan Vedak and Shilpa Vedak. He completed his schooling at Suvidyalaya, Borivli. Dipesh left his engineering diploma in 2012 and joined Joshi Bedekar College, Thane and completed HSC. [3] Dipesh pursued BA from Ramnarain Ruia College of Arts and Science, Mumbai. He completed YouTube Bootcamp from YouTube Space, Mumbai.

Career

Dipesh's first Marathi poem, Kharutai Ch Lagna, was published in Maharashtra Times Newspaper in 2009 when he was in ninth grade. After few poems got published in Maharashtra Times, Dipesh started writing feature articles and college news in Maharashtra times as College Club Reporter in 2012. He is the first College General Secretary who become Guest Editor of Marathi Newspaper Nava Kaal. He wrote more than 750 articles and news in Maharashtra Times in over five years on education, health, travel.[4] In this period, he developed his interest in mountaineering and did many treks in Sahyadri mountain range, Maharashtra. Soon after the completion of his bachelor’s degree, he quit his job at Maharashtra Times in 2016 to fully devote his time to travel and explore new avenues. He started his own blog citynextdoor.com in Nov 2017. He also faced stiff opposition from his family when he decided to turn out into a full-time traveller and writer. His posts were inspired by his own travel and food stories.[5] Dipesh was in the habit of penning a diary which consisted of his travel experiences and memories.

Apart from writing a blog, he successfully conducted trek break event, a trek with school students to develop an interest in History subject in them. This entire event was crowdfunded by his readers. DNA Samana Loksatta newspapers featured his event in their newspaper. [6] [7] [8]

Dipesh's literary works produced so far have been of travel genre. His writings have the theme of food and adventure. All his posts are based on real life and true stories.

Dipesh Vedak worked for Maharashtra Times as a College Club Reporter for more than five years. In this period, he developed his skill of writing. He wrote more than 750 articles and news in Maharashtra Times on education, health, travel.

With 2000 followers, Dipesh started his own blog citynextdoor.com in Nov 2017. From climbing every fort in Maharashtra to climbing Everest Base Camp, Dipesh has so many adventurous things on his bucket list. [9] After every journey, he writes new article for his blog with his adventurous photos. He aims to travel till his last breath.
