Karuna Jha is a famous Gynecologist of Eastern India based in Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand. She has been teaching Obstetrics & Gynecology in the premier medical educational institution Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences at Ranchi for 31 years & as a professor since 1993. She is the leading expert in the field of ObGyn. She is credited with introducing and establishing the sub specialties of Infertility, Gynecological endoscopic surgery and Fetal Medicine in the states of Jharkhand and Bihar (India). She has established a private hospital named Bharati Hospital for clinical & academic work in these fields. She was also a political leader in the JP movement of Bihar during 1974-77 and is a respected public person in Jharkhand (India).
