Rohan Stevenson better known as I Built the Sky[a] is an Australian based Independent guitarist/ songwriter/ producer and international touring artist from Melbourne

Over the last few years Stevenson has released 3 albums, 1 EP and 11 singles independently with music written/recorded/mixed/mastered by Stevenson. I Built the Sky's second Album 'The Sky Is Not The Limit' gained global attention and has allowed him to tour around Australia, UK, Europe, headline shows in New Zealand and to support bands including The Dillinger Escape Plan, Twelve Foot Ninja, Monuments, Intervals, Plini, Between The Buried and Me, Polyphia, among others.

2019 saw the release of a new album 'The Zenith Rise' which features the addition of producer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Animals As Leaders, Dead Letter Circus) who has been involved in mixing and mastering. The new album released on Nov 1st 2019 was released to global acclaim seeing the first single reach over 1million views on YouTube [1], a Japanese edition of the album in stores around Japan and more international touring in early 2020.

While 2020 saw a halt in live performances, Rohan continues to release progressive rock/metal music with latest single “The Fire Inside” being featured on Triple J’s The Racket on multiple occasions.

Musical style and influences[edit]

I Built the Sky's style is described as progressive rock, Instrumental Rock or even Cloud Core[5].

Stevenson has stated being inspired by other Australian bands such as Karnivool, Plini, The Helix Nebula or various other bands from Nirvana[6] to "emo punk from early 2000's" [7] Rohan has also stated Misha Mansoor of Periphery to be one of his biggest inspirations [8]
