It a tourist resort built in 1972 as a ski resort and hotel-residential centre.
It is made up of two localities. Marilleva 900, located about 900 meters above sea level, on the right bank of the Noce river, and Marilleva 1400, about 1400 meters above sea level, from where all the cable lifts depart. The connection between the two localities is ensured by a carriage road and a gondola.
The ski area consists of 25 ski lifts that connect it to Folgarida, Madonna di Campiglio and now also Pinzolo, creating a ski area with approximately 150 km of slopes.
The locality has slopes for night skiing, an indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis courts, a sports center (in Mezzana) with a soccer field, a futsal pitch, a bowling alley and a rafting and canoeing center .

Railways
Marilleva 900 is made accesible by the Marilleva station, which is located along the Trento-Malé-Mezzana railway.
The gondola between Marilleva 900 and Marilleva 1400 starts by the Marilleva train station.
