A negative effect of Colonialism is racial discrimination. The emergence of a worldwide brotherhood with the intention of eradicating any forms of discrimination because of one's race, social status, or religion. Peace is Rizal's wish to end the colonial rule of different countries. This is also one of Rizal's concerns in the mutual understanding not only between Spain but also in other countries. One of the reasons for this is due to Rizal's protest about the public display of Igorots in a Madrid carnival in 1887 that caused anger and misunderstanding to those who believed in the importance on one's race.
