The upcoming eighth season of the American mystery drama television series Pretty Little Liars, based on the books of the same name by Sara Shepard, was announced on April 15, 2024 for the streaming service Max, with Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Janel Parrish and Sasha Pieterse confirmed to reprise their roles as "the Liars", Spencer Hastings, Hanna Marin, Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Mona Vanderwaal and Alison DiLaurentis.[1]
Ian Harding was later confirmed to be reprising his role as Ezra Fitz, but no longer as a series regular.[2]
Showrunner and series creator I. Marlene King revealed that the eighth season would include new opening credits with Mona being now featured alongside the other five Liars, also confirming the series' original theme, "Secret" by The Pierces, will be replaced with a cover of the song.
It was also confirmed book series character Courtney DiLaurentis will somehow appear in some form.
