About me

[edit]

My hobbies include volleyball, hanging out with friends, shopping, and working out. I am a junior in high school and my favorite subject is English. I live with my parents and my brother, who is a freshman at San Diego Christian College. Another fact about me is that I have one dog named Maddie that I love to take on walks and snuggle with! When you pet a dog, it lowers your blood pressure and heart rate.[1]

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

If I'm active on Wikipedia in the future, I would love to write informational articles about marine animals because my dream job is in Marine Biology! I have always had a fascination with the ocean so researching marine life would be a good opportunity to learn more about my future career.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

For the past few years I have been interested in a band called Chase Atlantic. I first heard their music on an app called Tiktok and really enjoyed their style of music. A few of my favorite songs by Chase Atlantic are Friends, Swim, and Into It. I visited the Chase Atlantic article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: incorrect links, lack of neutrality, and grammatical correctness.

[edit]

Although most of the links were correct, I noticed two links that were provided were incorrect. The first link, What About Tonight, was linked to an X-Factor article. The second link to the album "Phases", was linked to the Chase Atlantic page I was currently active on.

Lack of Neutrality

[edit]

Overall, the article was very unbiased and factual. There was only one instance where I noticed that there was a lack of neutrality, which was when the author said their music style was "unique". Many could argue that they sound like other bands because of the instruments they use, and their lyrics are fairly similar to those of multiple different popular songs today.

Grammatical Correctness

[edit]

The article has many dates, song titles, and album titles and all of them were grammatically correct. I wasn't familiar with the format of the dates that they used, however, upon conducting my own research, I learned that they were written correctly. In addition, all of the quotations and commas were in the appropriate spot.

Summary

[edit]

I would say this article was very well written. It covers the band's journey and how they became successful, as well as their most recent accomplishments. The article had many different sections for every year that the band has been relevant, which is from 2012 - 2021. It included their most recent songs, which indicates that it has been updated as recently as January of 2021. It was also unbiased for the most part besides being called "unique", because someone could argue that they sound like many other relevant bands.
