Zuidlaren is a town in the Dutch province of Drenthe. It is a part of the municipality of Tynaarlo, and lies about 13 km northeast of Assen.

In 2001, the town of Zuidlaren had 10082 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 3.8 km2, and contained 3975 residences.[1] The statistical area "Zuidlaren", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 10820.[2]
