Nelson Omar Faquirá is a Mozambican Film & TV Producer and Entrepreneur, he graduated in Film/TV Production at the University of Zambia. He has been a film producer at Afrocinemakers since 2018, where to date, he has already directed 1 short film, 1 episode of Mpali (Zambezi Magic), produced about 18 short films, 1 feature, 4 of which received awards and 3 were a financial success in local theatres with the project “Cinema +Theatre”. He is the producer of the hit series on M-Net’s Maningue Magic.
Early life
[edit]Nelson Omar Faquirá was born in Inhambane, Mozambique in 1994 where he spent most of his childhood and attended highschool. In 2015 he moved to Maputo to study Administration at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. Between 2015 and 2020 he studied other courses such as Project Management and Film Production.
In 2020 he started his own Management Consuting company called DruckPoint Consulting, which today it operates as a Investment Company for his ventures in other indsutries.
In 2021 he was accepted at University of Zambia do study Television and Film Production under Multichoice Talent Factory.
Filmmaking career

In 2020 he was invited by his friend Jared "JJ" Nota to assist him producing his first action short film as Producer and Fight Choreographer, since then he produced about 18 short films, 4 of them won national awards and were special selection in international festivals. His first official credit as Producer came with the short film Ontogenesis (2020) by JJ Nota, when it won Best Short Film at the Goethe Institute in Mozambique. His second film to win an award was Sinédoque do Silêncio (2022) by Gil D'Oliveira at Kugoma Film Festival.
After producing many short films, his career shifted when he was accepted at University of Zambia do study Television and Film Production under Multichoice Talent Factory in 2021.where he has facilitators from different schools around the world, such Dolby Institute, New York Film Academy, Henley Business School and others. For his graduation he produced 1 feature film, he directed 1 short film and was associate producer in 1 feature film.
After graduating, he returned to Mozambique in 2023, to produce Kuga Munu a hit series for M-Net (Multichoice), the first season aired from May to December 2023 in DStv & GOtv.
The same year he was invited as permanent judge for Kugoma 14th editon, the biggest film festival in Mozambique.

Business career
[edit]In 2020 he started a Management Consulting company called DruckPoint Consulting where he practiced management consultancy for a few years, After commitment to filmmaking, he turned his changed the company to an investment company, where he manages his ventures of small companies and controls stocks he owns on other companies.
