Nash Owen White (born March 17, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder and first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the tenth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft.

White attended Lake Brantley High School in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Professional career[edit]

Toronto Blue Jays[edit]

The Toronto Blue Jays selected White in the tenth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut that same year with the GCL Blue Jays. In 2012, White played for the Single-A Lansing Lugnuts, hitting .272/.349/.359 with five home runs and 46 RBIs. The following season, White played for the High-A Dunedin Blue Jays, where he batted .258/.338/.414 with career-highs in doubles (42) and base on balls (55). In 2014, White entered the season on the Blue Jays 40-man roster. For the entire 2014 season, White played for the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, logging a .306/.358/.430 slash line with five home runs and 61 RBIs. In 2015, White returned to play for the Fisher Cats, where he slashed .274/.331/.394 with five home runs and 47 RBIs in 107 games.

In 2016, White spent his third straight season with New Hampshire, batting .269 with six home runs and was promoted to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, where he hit .231 with one home run in six games. He returned to New Hampshire to start the 2017 season and was again promoted to Buffalo. On January 4, 2018, White re-signed with the Blue Jays on a minor league contract.

Arizona Diamondbacks[edit]

On June 18, 2018, White was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for outfielder Kyle Jensen. The Diamondbacks assigned White to the Triple-A Reno Aces.

On December 17, 2018, White re-signed with the Diamondbacks on a minor league contract. He was named a non-roster invitee to the team's spring training camp. White began the 2019 season with Reno, posting a .270/.337/.400 slash line with two home runs and 11 RBIs across 50 games. On June 1, White was selected to the 40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time. He made his MLB debut that day, pinch hitting in the ninth inning of a 7–4 loss against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. On June 6, White pinch-hit for Tim Locastro in the sixth inning of the Diamondbacks' 13–3 win against the St. Louis Cardinals, and recorded his first major league hit, a single, off Cardinals pitcher John Gant. He hit his first major league home run on June 16, in the 4th inning of the Diamondbacks’ 5–4 win against the San Diego Padres, off Padres pitcher Cal Quantrill. In 16 games for Arizona, he batted .191/.239/.381 with two home runs and seven RBIs. On June 28, White was designated for assignment.

Toronto Blue Jays (second stint)[edit]

On July 4, 2019, White was claimed off waivers by the Toronto Blue Jays. Between the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays and the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, he hit .333 with three homer runs in 44 games. White elected free agency following the season on November 10.
