Introduction[edit]
Yeeyan is a name of a website. Its unique characters are free and offer a place of communication. [1]Suppose person A has troubles in translating English to Chinese, he or she can search for related topics that already existed on yeeyan website and improve him or her language ability. Also, in the website, you may find someone has the same ideas or interests in particular topics when you search for needed information.[2] In Beijing, Yeeyan.org has 150,000 registered users, who collectively translate 50 to 100 news articles every day from English to Chinese.[3] Everyone knows this website thinks it is a great benefit and we can learn and have fun from it.

The name Yeeyan derives from the Chinese characters 译 (yi) and 言 (yan), which together mean something like “translate the information,” and founder said that the site’s primary aim is to increase the flow of information between cultures.[3] Yeeyan.org looks like a news site, with headlining photos and editor-selected hot stories on the front page.
Main events[edit]
2006, Yeeyan was established and became the national biggest communication website within society.[4]
After earthquake in Wenchuan in May, 2008, Yeeyan organized society used Internet cooperation to translate nearly 100 thousand earthquake protection and improvement.[2]
Nearly 600 members took part in this translation activity. Also, earthquake publishers used yeeyan's translation as original materials to organize a book called "Earthquake protection". [4]
During May and November in 2009, Yeeyan cooperated with The Guardian [5]and established Chinese online guardian website. Members of yeeyan website actively participated in selecting articles, translation, website communication, checking. The Guardian said yeeyan webiste had grant potential within the translation field.
In October, 2011, Yeeyan cooperated with Zhongxin agency. It selected five translators from hundreds of candidates to translate “Steve Jobs”. Thus, the Chinese version and English version of this book had opportunity to be published at the same time.[4]
In July, 2012, Yeeyan website used Project Gutenberg.[6] This plan improved both quantity and quality of translation. The finished translation will be published directly in bookstores; thus properties of translators are protected and participation of members in society is increased. People can easier find interested topics and related translation about interest.[2]
Competitive advantages[edit]
Yeeyan community will translate Chinese-language materials and articles on the website for free. The opposite will be allowed to.[3] People have the easy access to go through worldly stuff on the website. Yeeyan also contains various fields. Stories are arranged into typical sections such as business, sports, technology, and life.[1]
Everyone no matter who he is can post suggestion and comments on the website. Yeeyan have links to the original articles; thus, people can trust the translation and develop the translation.

The yeeyan website has high-qualified safty, because they save all users’ data. We will solve the problem we face as quickly as possible, and recover the articles and personal information treasured by everyone. People do not need to worry about privacy and data loss or even grant the property right of every user. [2]

Slogan[edit]
"Discover, translate and read the Internet beyond your language" is Yeeyan's slogan.[6]They use three main processes: recommending, translating, and publishing. Each process serves different needs.
Processes[edit]
The recommending process: Yeeyan would like to see members in community show their advice of choosing articles, their personal tastes and requirements. "Crowd recommending" is a great example of this process, which allows users to vote for recommendations.[1] Now Yeeyan will post suggested and expected recommendations to mini-blogs, such as twitter. They use this device to match up with consumers' demands.
The translating process: The consumers can type on key words on the website to find their interested articles in all languages. Editors will provide wide languages and ideas on the website. [2]They can share opinions via internet. The quality of posted articles will granted by "in-line comments", version control and translator evaluation.
The publishing process: The website will use this process to organize and display translations. Selected translations will post to mini-blogs. The publishing process will also provide service interfaces, which may include customized subscription, and most importantly, a licensing/purchasing service.[6]
