Water football is an outdoor team football game played in ankle-deep water on a special swimming pool like inflatable football court with protective equipment. On a general water football court can play maximum 10-14 people (5-7 a side) at a time. The aim of the game as usual in the soccer like football games is to score more Goal (sport) than your opponents.

The game rules of water football[edit]

1. All water football players must start behind their team zone line.

2. Only once the ball is thrown by the referee can any player from both sides cross the team zone line.

3. No goals are allowed from inside and behind the players' own zone or the neutral zone.

4. Every player can be a goalie, however, only one designated player can touch the ball with hands behind the 2.5 meter.

5. If any player touches the ball outside of the 2.5 meter goalie zone on his team's side then a penalty kick given to the other team from the center point. Penalty kicks or one to one. Both teams must stay outside the neutral zone on the opposite side

6. In any other zone handball is just a free kick (in case of a free kick it is not allowed to shoot the gate directly, first you have to pass the ball).

7. If someone is heading the ball into the opponent's gate it scores double points.

8. After each goal play can resume right away from the goalie line without having to start from the center each time

9. There is no throw-in in water football! If the ball goes out of play, the game is to be continued from the opposite team goalie zone. Use the exchange ball (every time you can find it in the goal)!

10. For slide tackle from behind a warning will be given. If repeated the player will be expelled from the game.
