Ghar Damad

Ghar Damad is a Pakistan i family sitcom about an unconventional Pakistani family. The show is directed by Bilal Naqvi, written by Akber Rizvi and produced from PTV Home. Ghar Damad is currently in-production from PTV Karachi Center.The story of the SITCOM is derived from the thought of people specially male members of our society who opted to live in their in-laws houses after their marriages. The thought is presented in an satirical manner with humor at its every on-going moment.

Ghar Damad was first on - aired just Before Eid-ul-Fitr 2018 on PTV Home and since then to embrace it’s presence over the large masses of Pakistan. It is a successful sitcom with a high TRP and famous amongst the masses of Pakistan. Especially in the areas where is Satellite channels are not available. PTV being a national broadcaster and a terrestrial network has an edge over all other private channels of Pakistan in terms of its viewership even in most of the remotest areas of the country.

Plot

Taani Begum is the Boss of the house and Ghulam Sahab is a Ghar Damad who earns no respect being one and treated and acts as a servant in his home. Neither Taani Begum nor their only daughter Honey served him with any respect and he is living with no dignity at all. But still having no skill in him he is contented and satisfied with his job being Ghar Damad as he is living in peace without having any tension of working anywhere or earning something.

One fine day Laddu came in their lives who change the dynamics of this family forever. Laddu was selected and trapped to become the Ghar Damad of this house as Taani Begum engaged him to get married with her only daughter Honey. Since their marriage Laddu is also living in their house as a Ghar Damad and now equally sharing all work related to cooking, cleaning, dusting, grocery, washing, dishes and looking after every household issue with his father in law Ghulam sahab.

Laddu by profession was a thief and street kid who used to cheat and fraud people with the support of his father Rasheed Miyan. Now since he is stuck up and locked up in this jail of in-laws he is unable to continue with his profession but yes he plays such tricks during every event and every situation at home. Since he is energetic, evil genius and street smart, he always make his father in law, Ghulam sahab, his partner in every crime and trick he performs while being in this home. This has not only brought some spice in the drama only but the adventures related to these ideas of Laddu also brings spice and life to Ghulam sahab’s conventional and vintage life.

Whatever they do, how they do, is all well planned and designed carefully by Laddu. Unfortunately, they never succeed in any of their plans and end up getting in mess in every episode. Both of them show, in fact, try to show the self-determinacy but in reality they both are severely dependent on their wives and always do whatever their wives order them to. At times they even cannot breath without the permission of their wives since they both are very well aware fo the fact that Taani Begum is the only Boss of the house and her only daughter Honey is her most beloved. And Taani Begum is the one who runs and operates entire business alone and the only source of income for all of them.

This Drama is about Female dominancy over males in the house. Sarcastically and humorously presented about what happens to the Ghar Damad’s in real life.
