Trevor Patrick Plouffe (born June 15, 1986) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. Between 2010 and 2018, he played nine seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics, Tampa Bay Rays, and Philadelphia Phillies.
Early life
[edit]Trevor Patrick Plouffe was born June 15, 1986, in West Hills, California,[1] to Diane and Warren Plouffe.[2]
Professional career
[edit]Draft and minor leagues (2004–2010)
[edit]The Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB) selected Plouffe in the first round, 20th overall, of the 2004 MLB draft.[3] He signed with the Twins on June 12, receiving a signing bonus of $1.5 million, and was assigned to the Rookie-level Elizabethton Twins of the Appalachian League.[4]

Oakland Athletics (2017)
[edit]On January 10, 2017, the Oakland Athletics signed Plouffe to a one-year, $5.25 million contract.[5] The signing allowed Oakland to move Ryon Healy off of third base while giving prospect Matt Chapman more time to develop.[6] On April 22, Plouffe recorded his 100th career home run with a game-tying solo shot off of Seattle Mariners pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma.[7]
