The SIA Youth Scholarhship is a fully paid academic scholarship jointly administered by Singapore Airlines and the Ministry of Education of Singapore for Indian students.
The SIA Youth Scholarship is tenable for 2 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificate. Students who perform well in the GCE ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) Examination may apply for the undergraduate scholarship offered by the National University of Singapore or the Nanyang Technological University. The Scholarship is for 2 years of Pre-University studies in selected Singapore Junior Colleges and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationals of India
- Possess outstanding academic track record ( at least an average of 85% with English as first language in the Standard 10 State/National examinations.
Scholarship Timeline

Candidates short-listed for the selection test/interview are notified a week before the selection test/interview dates. Only short-listed candidates are notified.

Scholarship Benefits:
* Allowance of S$2,400 per annum with hostel accommodation * Hostel accommodation provided * Settling-in allowance of S$500 (once only) * Economy class air passage to Singapore and back to home country upon completion of course * Waiver of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees) * Waiver of GCE ‘A’ Level examination fees (once only) * Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover * There is no bond attached to the scholarship
Application Procedures
There are 2 modes of application — online or hardcopy application. Each applicant should submit only ONE application.
Online application
Applicants are usually encouraged to apply online via the online application system.
Hardcopy application
Alternatively, applicants may also print out a copy of the application form (192kb .pdf).
Notable Alumni
A function of the SIA Youth Scholarship's selectivity is the success of the students admitted to the scholarship program. Youth Scholars eventually go on to matriculate at the world's top universities, spanning across several continents. Universities with sizeable numbers of SIA Scholars include the National University of Singapore (Singapore) , McGill University (Canada), the London School of Economics and Political Science (UK), University College London (UCL) and National Law School of India University (India).
Some notable alumni include:
1. Anirudh Suri- Scholar at Temasek Junior College from 2000-2002. Founder of Global Young Indians and Professionals, student at Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
2. Aditya Singh- Scholar at Anglo-Chinese Junior College from 2007-2008. Aeronautics researcher at Stanford University.
3.Anjney Midha- Scholar at St. Andrew's Junior College from 2009-2010. Finalist for the Royal Economic Society's title of 'Young Economist 2010' and founder of econthinktank.org. Student at Stanford University.
