Matthew Parker is the author of a number of bestselling narrative history books, as well as being a consultant for television and radio history programs. Born in Central America in 1970, Parker spent part of his childhood in the West Indies, and he would write about the region's history in Panama Fever, a history of the construction of the Panama canal[1]. He has lectured at the Royal Geographical Society in London, the Explorers' Club in New York, Northwestern University in Chicago and the Treasury Executive Institute and the Society of the Americas in Washington DC. Before becoming a full-time writer, he was a commissioning editor at Ebury Publishing in the UK, part of the Random House Group.[2]
