Anđela Ivanov (Serbian Cyrillic: Анђела Иванов) (born February 6, 1991 in Ruma, Serbia) is a Serbian Turbo-Folk singer.
Biography
[edit]Ivanov lived in her hometown of Ruma until the age of 10, with her family relocating to Kalinovik District, Livno. While living in the village of Mekoča Ivanov began sutdying Music, expressing an interest in singing at the age of 12. At age 16 Ivanov won the local singing contest in which she won free tickets to see Martina Kovačević perform and a box of chocolates. In 2009 Ivanov graduated as a Emergency Medical Technician from the Technical high school in Kalinovik. After graduating Ivanov moved to Livno Grad with a friend where she decided to pursue a career in music there. Ivanov made a living by singing in bars and clubs under the name "Anđa". It wasn't until 2011 that Ivanov truly made her name known.
Career
[edit]In 2011 after hearing a suggestion from a close friend, Ivanov auditioned for Zvezda Granda Livno and evantually made it into the Top 20. And to her own surprise she made it to the Finals of the competetion and won it, beating Zoran Dragović, who was a fan favourite for the competition. Ivanov later was signed by Grand and recorded two songs for the compilation album by them, "VIP" and "Kažu Mi Da Si Me Voleo"
Personal Life
[edit]Ivanov's parents are also Emergency medical technicians which is why she studied in high school to become one. Ivanov has a younger brother and sister (Dejan and Marina) Ivanov currently resides in Belgrade with Emina Mehić (who came third in the competition) The two became friends during the competition.
