Von Steinberg is one of the few medieval Swedish noble families that still hold a significant societal position in Sweden.
The Von Steinbergs family tree is one that needs thorough examination in order to get the complete overview. The first notable mention of the Von Steinbergs, is that of Ernst von Steinberg. Baron.
In addition to the noble status, the Von Steinbergs have also excelled in trade and banking. The family have through the centuries developed a noteable fortune. Their fortune is however spread out in different companies and estates, which makes it difficult to estimate it's total value.
Josef Von Steinberg was an important German director. Among his most important creations is "Der Blaue Engel" (The Blue Angel), Germany 1930. This movie is commonly accepted as one of the heights within the (pre Hitler) German film golden age.

According to wikipedia's own pages [1] Ernst Steinberg, Baron von Steinberg (26 September 1692 – 3 October 1759) was a Hanoverian minister and head of the German Chancery in London from 1737 until 1748. As is described in the Wikepedia article on Ernst von Steinberg; He gained his position due to the influence of his cousin, Amalie von Wallmoden, the future Countess of Yarmouth, who was the mistress of George II. [2] Ernst is one of the most notable family members, and is the first entry in newer history chronicles of any significance. Thus, he is by most Historians concidered the basis of the family's modern history.
Current Family Tree[edit]
Ernst von Steinberg's son, George Friedrich, followed in his fathers footsteps and became an important figure in Hanover where he became involved in local politics.
Ernst von Steinberg's daughter, Eva, married early. Her marriage to XXXX was the result of one of her fathers business associates, since XXXX's father Mr. YYYY was heavily involved in local trade. Later Mr. YYYY lost most of his fortune in a business adventure that went wrong. This lead to a separation between the two families, where Eva was more or less excluded from the von Steinberg family.
