Nitasha Kaul is a Kashmiri-Indian writer and scholar. Man Asian Literary Prize, a literary award for an "Asian novel unpublished in English" [1], shortlisted her novel Residue in 2009.[2] Her literary writings have appeared in various forums and often deal with concerns of identity and movement[3]. [4]

In addition to being a novelist, Nitasha is an economist. Her research and publications deal with issues of identity, culture, and economy. Her book titled Imagining Economics Otherwise: Encounters with Identity/Difference is published by Routledge.[5]. She has provided critical commentaries on the recent financial crisis[6], the role of values
