Pamela Haag, Ph.D., is a writer, historian, and American feminist thinker. She published her first work, Consent: Sexual Rights and the Transformation of American Liberalism (Cornell University Press) in 1999. In the late 1990s she worked for the nationally prominent women's organization, the AAUW Educational Foundation, and became their director of research. During her tenure there she published Voices of a Generation (Marlowe/ThundersMouth: 2000). Haag has also published creative nonfiction, personal essay, and memoir. Haag has published in National Public Radio, The American Scholar, the Christian Science Monitor, Antioch Review, Chronicle of Higher Education, Michigan Quarterly Review, the Washington Post, Ms. magazine, and other publications.
Her most recent book, Marriage Confidential: Love in the Post-Romantic Age, will be published in June of 2011 by HarperCollins.
Haag received a Ph.D. from Yale University, and a B.A. from Swarthmore College, where she graduated with Highest Honors. She also earned an MFA in creative nonfiction from Goucher College. She has held numerous fellowships, including a Mellon Fellowship in the Humanities, a National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship, and postdoctoral positions at both Brown and Rutgers universities.
