Hugo Amaya (born November 25, 1980 is an American entrepreneur and investor. He is the founder and principal of HLA Capital LLC which is a venture capital company.

Early life and education

Hugo was born in New York City on the upper westside of Manhattan and had a middle-class upbringing. His father was a business owner in spanish harlem with a few stores. His mother was also an entrepreneur and founded Jurabe International Inc. Hugo attended La Salle Academy high school on the lower eastside of manhattan and went to Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, NJ where he studied Criminal Justice.
