Possible Articles to Research/Create[edit]

Sam Pepper

Sam Pepper is a YouTuber that I want to create a page for because he a big part of the news on the internet because of some of his prank videos. His videos prompted other YouTubers to post their own videos and react to the things he did in his videos. I feel like there is a lot to read about when it comes to Sam Pepper and the controversies of his videos and there is also a lot for me to just state as fact. Sam Pepper does not have a page but he is a part of a bigger Wikipedia page and I thought that I could definitely expand on this if I did enough research on him and his videos. Sam Pepper and his videos and their impact offer a specific event I can analyze and use for creating a page for him. Since he prompted other YouTubers to react, I can use their videos and sources for information as well.

Sky Williams

Sky Williams is a internet celebrity that started his career on YouTube and then becoming a streamer on twitch.tv. I feel he deserves a Wikipedia article because of the amount of subscribers that he has (500,000) and because there are a lot of interviews with him and videos made by him that explain his past and his rise to fame. I could use these as sources and because he doesn't have an article already, there is a lot I could say to get started. Since my topic is about the rise of YouTube and it's impacts for sharing information and content creation, Sky shows the success YouTube can bring someone an how anyone has the power to create whatever content they want to do. Since he doesn't even have a page, gathering background information and compiling it into an article could be a bit easier than trying to edit a stub page.

TheSw1tcher (Super Best Friends)

The Super Best Friends of the channel "TheSw1tcher" consist of four members that create content for their jobs. They all decided to quit their "real jobs" and pursue YouTube careers. The one problem I can see is that most of my sources about their lives and careers are mainly through videos that they created. I'm sure I can dig up some articles about them somewhere on the Internet and interviews that they have been in. They represent the idea of my topic being about how YouTube can become careers for people if they find the right crowd. I can also use AMA's that a few members of the Super Best Friends did on reddit to where they personally answered questions about their lives. The Super Best Friends do not have a Wikipedia page either, so starting from scratch with any information would be doable.

"Old Media" Stars Going into YouTube

Old Media stars such as Jimmy Fallon and Ellen DeGeneres have started their own YouTube channels in order to reach a wider audience and also promote their television series as well. They have received credit and have been praised for being pioneers for using YouTube as an entertainment platform. On their main Wikipedia pages, Fallon and DeGeneres have mentions of their YouTube pages but I want to explore their integration into YouTube even more and make a bigger page about it. There is also a lot to research about their YouTube careers as well. Many YouTubers have their reactions to Fallon and DeGeneres becoming a part of YouTube and there is a lot of press about their online videos as well. From articles to other YouTuber's opinions, there is potentially a lot to write about.

The Game Theorists

In accordance to my topic of YouTube being a place to express ideas and share with each, I want to also start a Wikipedia page for The Game Theorists. The Game Theorists look at video games and produce their own content and theories about certain aspects of specific video games and video game characters. They do their own research and provide evidence to support their theories, and these videos get millions of views. This is a job for The Game Theorists and their videos advocate for critical analysis and thinking for video games, another technological innovation. Matthew Patrick, the head of The Game Theorists, has done many interviews and "About Me" videos that will provide plenty of information for creating a new Wikipedia article about him.
