I am an administrator open to recall. This page outlines the requirements and process of such a recall:
Definitions
[edit]- Admin action
- Any edit or logged action I perform that I would not have been able to perform were I not a member of the "sysop" group on this wiki.
- Administrative noticeboard
- Any page with the primary purpose of getting administrators to take notice of certain matters. This includes, but is not limited to, WP:AN, WP:ANI, WP:AIV, WP:UAA, WP:AN3, and WP:AE.
- Established editor in good standing
- Any registered editor who made their account's first edit at least 90 days ago, has at least 500 non-deleted edits to articles, is not the subject of any active discussion on any administrative noticeboard, is not currently the subject of any blocks or other editing sanctions/restrictions (regardless of the source), and has not been so for the past 90 days.
- Filing editor
- An established editor in good standing who chooses to initiate this recall procedure.
- Uninvolved editor
- An editor not directly involved with or affected by the admin action(s) given as a reason for my recall, and who has never received any blocks or other sanctions from me, unless all of them were overturned upon review.
Requirements to initiate a recall
[edit]Any established editor in good standing may request my recall provided that all of the following criteria are met:
- they have a link to at least one diff or log entry of an admin action that I am being recalled for,
- I have not previously been subject to a recall attempt for at least one of the same admin actions, and
- I have not previously been subject to a recall attempt by the same editor in the past year.
Procedure for a recall
[edit]The filing editor should create a discussion page calling for my recall, which must be linked from WP:AN for the duration of the discussion. I must be notified on my talk page of the discussion. The post on the beginning of the page must:
- link to this page (User:Jackmcbarn/Recall),
- link to the diffs or log entries of my admin actions that are the cause of the recall, and
- explain why those admin actions should result in my recall.
Subheadings should be created within the recall topic:
- one for users supporting my recall,
- one for users supporting my continued adminship, and
- one for discussion.
Within 36 hours, at least 2 uninvolved established editors in good standing must support my recall, or it will be closed without action. At this point, the recall process works similarly to a reverse RfA, in which any uninvolved established editor in good standing may !vote in (although any editor may contribute to discussion).
14 days after the second uninvolved established editor in good standing supported my recall, an uninvolved bureaucrat will close the discussion. If more than 60% of the !voters called for my recall, the bureaucrat should remove me from the "sysop" group and make clear that it was done under a cloud. If between 50% and 60% of the !voters called for my recall, the bureaucrat should evaluate the arguments of each side, just as they would while closing an RfA. If fewer than 50% of the !voters called for my recall, the bureaucrat should close the discussion with no further action taken.
In addition, there are two circumstances under which the recall thread will be immediately closed without further action:
- before 2 uninvolved established editors in good standing (not including the filing editor) support my recall, if more than 7 uninvolved established editors in good standing support my continued adminship, or
- after 2 uninvolved established editors in good standing (not including the filing editor) support my recall, if fewer than 30% of the total !voters support my recall.
