Copyright is ah complex to say the least. Generally it is safer to stick to photos that you have taken yourself (local schools and plants are often a fairly easy starting target) unless you really know what you are doing. Hang around the right bits of wikipedia long enough and you will learn.Genisock2 (talk) 22:30, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Question about H. James Towey

[edit]

Hey there, I've got a question... H. James Towey redirects to Jim Towey and there is nothing in there about him ever being a U.S. Congressman. Is it a different person? IS the information not there? I checkeed the U.S. Cogress Database and the only Towry I found was Frank W. Towey, Jr..--Dr who1975 (talk) 22:23, 12 February 2008 (UTC) Nevermind... I see you already figrued that out and fixed it.--Dr who1975 (talk) 22:26, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Anil K Rajvanshi's bio on wikipedia

[edit]

Dear Jccort,

Thanks a lot for putting my name in UF list. I certainly appreciate it. Can you please help me in creating a bio. If you give me your personal e-mail ID I can send all the relevant information in the format that is generally found at wiki. I am not well versed in the HTML and wiki formatting and hence this request.

Warm regards. Anil —Preceding unsigned comment added by Akraj (talkcontribs) 05:19, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

[edit]

You have been 3 granted with the rollback permission on the basis of your recent effort on dealing with vandalism. The rollback is a revert tool which can lessens the strains that normal javascripts such as twinkle put on the Wikipedia servers. You will find that you will revert faster through the rollback than through the normal reversion tools such as javascripts and the undo feature, which means that you could save time especially when reverting very large articles such as the George W. Bush page. To use it, simply click the link which should look like [rollback] (which should appear unbloded if you have twinkle installed) on the lastest diff page. The rollback link will also appear on the history page beside the edit summary of the lastest edit. For more information, you may refer to this page, alternatively, you may also find this tutorial on rollback helpful. Yamamoto Ichiro 会話 00:35, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Notability of Gavin Barsky

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Gavin Barsky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pixelface (talk) 20:49, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Please be careful

[edit]

This edit accidentally clobbered "living=yes", which produces the BLP warning. I've fixed this one, but if you are doing a series of similar edits, you might want to make sure you are not damaging these. - Jmabel | Talk 00:07, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Rankings for WikiProjects

[edit]

As the assessment coordinator for WikiProject Indianapolis I noticed you changed some importance ratings for certain athletes to "high" status. I also noticed they were all related to the Florida Gators or Florida in general, a little POV maybe? Please consult the WikiProject before changing these items or at least open a discussion on the associated talk page. Thanks, HoosierStateTalk 23:52, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
