Zero Lubin Two artists, Louise Burston and Gerry King[1] set up Zero Lubin early in 2009. They first created a range of six greetings cards featuring Gerry’s dark, yet playful and humorous ‘micro-fictions’. In October 2009 they went on to produce and publish their first book, Lubin Tales.[2] "The absurdism of a Lear or a Lewis Carroll refracted through the noir novels of Derek Raymond. Great stuff." Will Self 2009.[3]
Based in Bristol, their workspace is a treasure trove of props that inspire the stories and illustrations; retro mirrors, Bakelite phones and radios, 50s glass drinks cabinets, two La Reine Restocrat barbers chairs, boxing posters and assorted memorabilia.
Zero Lubin are now working on another two publications, a series of embroidered and framed souvenir handkerchiefs and a small range of Lubin merchandising.
