Alberto Collo was an Italian actor, famous for his roles in Italian Silent films. He acted alongside Francesca Bertini, Hesperia and Emilio Ghione, and his most famous role was as Fornaretto in Il Fornaretto di Venzia (1923).

Alberto Collo was initially employed as a barber at a film studio. He quickly graduated to playing uncredited,supporting roles in André Deed's popular slapstick comedies, known as the Cretinetti series in Italy and Foolshead in Britain and the United States.

In 1912-1914, Alberto Collo starred alongside Emilio Ghione and Francesca Bertini in a series of melodramas directed by Baldassere Negroni.

He had a small role in Assunta Spina, playing a policeman.

Decline of career

After the Italian film industry collapsed in the mid-twenties, Collo rarely made further films; he is credited with just four productions from 1925-1939.

In 1926, Alberto Collo made a series of theatrical appearances alongside Emilio Ghione and Kally Sambucini.

In 1951-1954, Collo had some minor roles in several films, including Arrivano i nostri by Mario Mattioli.
