John Brent (March 14, 1938 – August 16, 1985) was an original member of The Second City improvisational theater group in Chicago, IL. Also a poet and film actor, he recited many of his poems at The Gaslight Cafe in New York's Greenwich Village and had numerous bit parts in notable motion pictures. He was the author of Bibleland, a satrical poem about religion and Christianity. Brent co-authored and recorded How to Speak Hip
