- Minnie May Barry – Diana's younger sister. Anne saves her life in Anne of Green Gables when Minnie May is sick with croup.
- George Barry – Diana and Minnie May's father. Barry's pond (the Lake of Shining Waters) is named after him.
- Josephine Barry – Diana's great-aunt who lived in Charlottetown before she died in Anne of the Island. Anne found her a "kindred spirit". She left Anne one thousand dollars in her will to pay for Anne's Redmond tuition.

- Faith Meredith – often described as very pretty, Faith moves to the Glen from Maywater with her family when her father takes up the post of minister. She later marries Jem Blythe.
- Gerald "Jerry" Meredith – the older son of John and Cecilia Meredith. He fought in World War I with his chum Jem Blythe and later became engaged to Nan Blythe.
- Reverend John Knox Meredith – a widower minister who comes to the Glen with his children just before the start of Rainbow Valley. He later marries Rosemary West.
- Rosemary Meredith – see Rosemary West
- Thomas Carlyle "Carl" Meredith – the younger son of John and Cecilia Meredith. He has a penchant for creatures and small animals. He came home from fighting in World War I blind in one eye, but remarked cheerfully that one eye was enough to watch bugs with.
- Una Meredith – the younger daughter of John and Cecilia Meredith. She is mentioned to have black hair and dark blue eyes. In Rilla of Ingleside, she is secretly in love with Walter, though only Rilla suspects.
