Malik Khurram Shahzad (born on 25 September 1976 ) (Urdu: ملک خرم شہزاد) is a pakistani political personnel and human rights activist. He worked as a spokesman of the Government of Pakistan till 2018. He served as Caretaker Provincial Information Minister, Balochistan, Pakistan from 2018 to 2019.[1] Now he is working to promote for women rights and basic education rights in balochistan. He is currently living in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan.

Early life and education[edit]

Malik Khurram Shahzad was born in a prominent muslim family on 25 September 1976 in Sibi. His father Malik Tariq Feroze was a banker and he was well-recognized for his performances in his profession. Khurram received his early education from Sibi and later graduated from University of Balochistan.

Political Carrer[edit]

Malik Khurram served as a spokesperson before coming to politics in 2018. He got appointed as Caretaker Provincial Information Minister of Balochistan in 2018. He took his oath as a Caretaker Minister of Information on 12 June 2018[2].[3] He served in this post till 2019. One of of his most discussed initiatives is he was the first minister to restrict the government employees from journalism. He encouraged the media to play a significant role to ensure free and fare election.[4][5] He is also praised for facilitating the women voters of Balochistan.[6]He speacially worked for the development of areas like Chaman and Sibi.He has never joined any national party and decided to lead his life as an independent politician. He remained very dedicated as a minister throughout his whole tenure. He himself along with other ministers physically rushed to inspect the treatment of the injured victims of Quetta Blast on 25 July 2018.[7] His ambition is to work for the people of Balochistan and grab the attention of the Government of Pakistan about the underrated beauty of Balochistan. He is committed for crystal clear elections in Balochistan and utter eradication of corruption from the area. Currently he is working as a mediator between Government and local tribal leaders for the betterment of the Government. He is politically active and working for women rights and basic education rights in Balochistan.

Malik Khurram has become popular and widely accepted among the people of Balochistan. His exceptional and bold initiatives about free and fair elections, women empowerment and journalism are praised all over the province of Balochistan.

Malik Khurram Shahzad is a notable political celebrity in Balochistan. He has an outstanding reputation in provincial politics in Balochistan and played a significiant role as a caretaker minister. He has very good relation with all the political leaders Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan, Alauddin Marri and Chairman of Senate of Pakistan, Sadiq Sanjarni.
