Rajarambapu Institute of Technology (RIT), Rajaramnagar is an autonomous engineering institute. It is affiliated to Shivaji University and was established in 1983[1]. RIT is Located near urun Islampur and is 7 kms away from Peth Naka off Pune -Bangalore highway[2].

The college has designed engineering syllabus for up to seventh semester. In eighth semester the students of B.Tech has four choices viz.

Also students can study interdisciplinary courses and choose number of courses according to their grasping capacity called as CBCS i.e. choice based curriculum system. This gives flexibility of completing engineering course up to five years or less than four years.

RIT is 49th in top 75 and 28th in top private colleges as per the Engineering Institute Rankings 2017 survey by Times Engineering.[3]

  • UGC has granted extension of Autonomous Status to Rajarambapu Institute of Technology for the period with effect from 2017-2018 to 2021-2022.
  • Accredited with 'A' Grade by NAAC, India.
  • All seven UG & Five PG Programmes are accredited/ re accredited by NBA as on today.
  • Ranked 75th in “Top 100 Private T-Schools 2016” by Dataquest-CMR T-School Survey 2016.[4]
  • 39th in Top 75 Private Engineering Institutes & 81st at Overall Engineering Institute Ranking done by Times Engineering Survey 2016.[5]
  • Institute has been selected as one of the best colleges (committed) for QEEE program by QEEE IIT, Madras.[6]

IUCEE, as an icebreaking activity organized a series of training programs successively for three years for engineering faculty at UG & PG level known as Faculty Leadership in Institute programmes and were organized at Infosys, Mysore during 2008 to 2010.

CAD/CAM/CAE Center:-

The CAD/CAM/CAE Centre has been established under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme [9](TEQIP) of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The centre is established to conduct the skill based short term courses in the field of CAD/CAM/CAE, Product Design & Development.

Cultural & Youth Programs:-

Cultural activities and youth programmes provide a platform to students to develop and enhance their non-technical skills. The students participate in inter-college and inter-university cultural and literary competitions. The committee comprises of faculty members from all departments and student committee with over hundred members.[10]

Virangula :-

An annual cultural festival is conducted through this cell. Several awards and prizes have been fetched by students in various festivals/contests. “Vishwakarma" the annual magazine has nourished and promoted cultural literacy and art talents in students.

TEDx :-

TEDx talks were held at RIT as "TEDxRajarambapuIT[11]" on 25th of September 2017.The theme of the event was “OPEN YOUR MIND AND SEE THE WORLD”. Personalities from all walks of life like Sandeep Patil, Adhik Kadam, Dilip Kulkarni, Vivek Sawant, Dorababu Achanta, Shankar Kulkarni, Saurabh Budhkar, Nitin Shinde, Sampatrao Pawar, Megha Pansare delivered the TEDx talks."

HAM Radio club:-

Ham radio club was established in 2017 under Student Activity Center. This club was established to create awareness and nurture interest in students about Amateur Radio.

Experimental Rocketry Club:-

The experimental Rocketry club step forward to make students capable to shoulder the challenges of research and development in space and rocket propulsion technology for betterment of society. The club has completed 140 tests after doing iterations.

RIT Satellite Club:-

The satellite club studies the working of various systems related to satellite technology. This club has created a system to pass on that knowledge to next generation of students. The satellite club creates a culture of research and development in the field of Satellite Engineering and build entrepreneurial views in the mind of students.

RIT MOTORSPORTS:-

RIT MOTORSPORTS club participate in numerous competitions like Go Kart Challenge (EGKC), Quad Bike Design, SUPRA SAEINDIA, Formula Bharat, Baja SAE, etc. The teams have won various awards in these competitions. The various teams in Motorsport club are MaGOD Racers, Team Nequit[12][13], Galactus Racing[14], Luftwaffe racing[15][16][17].

Vivek Vahini:-

In RIT to develop a platform for discussion, on 19 January 2016, a meeting was held which finalized the start-up of Vivek Vahini in RIT. Now, on every Thursday the Vivek Vahini sessions are held at RIT-campus effectively and various discussions are undertaken through it every week. Vivek Vahini is a loosely knit organisation of students and teachers of our college who are interested in changing themselves and the society.

SPEED:-

SPEED is a non-profit, global student organization which functions as an interdisciplinary network of engineering students, who aspire to provide opinion and create an impact on future development of engineering education and its effect on society and environment.The SPEED chapter in RIT promotes the development of the students through RSF(Regional Student Forum)[18]. Various opportunities are given through this organisation at national as well as global level.

Jigyaasa:-

Jigyaasa is a student initiative working towards bringing the underprivileged and the destitute children in the limelight of education. The active fraternity of Jigyaasa, comprising of 140+ members marching past every hurdle with the motto – “Less me and a more we”, has now been joined by a few more minds determined for the good of people. The newly joined members constitute the Islampur wing of the Jigyaasa family, i.e. the fourth active front and the third fellow branch of the Jigyaasa Educational Trust.
