Tall orchid with small white flowers studded along upper part of stem. Occurs in damp areas, meadows and adjacent to streams, rather than in true acid bogs.
Native to Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, Northwest Territories. Common in the north west mountains of North America in sunny wet terrain. In the east , mainly a plant of the Boreal and Mixed Forest Regions. Can be found in fens in areas of calcareous bedrock.
