Seaside Art Gallery is a family owned art gallery located in Nags Head, North Carolina, a coastal town in the Outer Banks. It is the first art gallery in the area and was established by Chester Smith, Barbara Smith, and William Wood in 1961,[1][2] the same year the Town of Nags Head was incorporated.[3] The gallery is free and open to the public and houses a large collection of animation cells and original artwork from the 19th - 21st centuries.[4]

Seaside Art Gallery hosts the International Miniature Art Show, one of the Unites States' twenty-one miniature art exhibitions recognized by the Association of Miniature Artists (AMA).[5][6] During the show miniature artists compete for the People's Choice Award, a competition in which the public can vote for their miniature artwork of choice. The winning artists are announced at the Awards Reception near the end of the show.[7] Seaside Art Gallery exhibits a variety of art shows year-round and has made multiple contributions to charity organizations and the local community.[8][9][10][11] The gallery held its 50th anniversary in 2011.[12]
