duncan b. barlow (born October 18, 1971) is an American writer of literary fiction and a musician. His fiction is often described as dark and surreal[1]; however, his work also draws from post-structuralism, absurdist fiction, and horror literature. It typically centers on isolated protagonists facing crises of mental health, faith, and philosophy.

Barlow is also known for his hardcore music and indie music, including endpoint, Guilt, By The Grace of God, the aasee lake, and d.biddle. He also released solo records.

Biography

duncan b. barlow was born October 18, 1971 in Louisville, Kentucky. While living in Kentucky, barlow was primarily known for his music contributions in the political hardcore bands Endpoint, Guilt, and By The Grace of God.

He attended University of Louisville (BA), Naropa University (MFA), and University of Denver (PhD). He teaches in the creative writing department at University of South Dakota.

In 2009, he founded Astrophil Press, a publisher of experimental fiction and literary fiction. He is the managing editor at South Dakota Review.
