Stefan Schreiter (* 9 December 1964) is a German businessman. Schreiter manages German recycling company Duales System Holding GmbH & Co. KG in Cologne, as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer. He is also a member of the Supervisory Board of German automobile repair shop A.T.U Auto-Teile-Unger Handels GmbH & Co KG and a member of the Advisory Board of A.T.U.

Early life

Schreiter was born in Cologne, Germany and studied Business Administration in Göttingen.

Career

He started his career at Thyssen Industrie AG (today: ThyssenKrupp AG) in 1991. He then became Director Controlling Brakes & Chassis of ITT Automotive GmbH (today: Continental Automotive Systems) and was involved in the sale of the company to Continental in 1998. From 1998-2002 he worked at Carl Zeiss Oberkochen as Director Controlling, Manager M&A and Member of the Executive Board (CFO) of Carl Zeiss Ophthalmology Systems (today: Carl Zeiss Meditec AG). Stefan Schreiter played a central role in the company’s IPO in 2002. From 2002-2006, Schreiter was Chief Financial Officer of Stabilus GmbH. Since January 2006 he has been Managing Partner and CEO of DSD – Duales System Holding GmbH & Co. KG. DSD, at first state-run, is now Germany's main player within the dual system of waste collection.

Personal life

Stefan Schreiter is married, with one child and lives in Bonn.

With the Duales System Holding GmbH & Co. KG., Schreiter has been a partner of the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. in Düsseldorf since 2008.^[1] Schreiter has been a jury member since 2013.

As member of the Board of Trustees, Schreiter supports the German Opera Berlin.^[2]

He founded the Erika und Erwin Schreiter Foundation, committed to supporting education for children from difficult social environments.^[3]
