Ruin/Renewal is an American rock band formed in 2003 in Newburyport, Massachusetts by singer-songwriter Joshua Pritchard. The bands original roster, comprised of drummer Brett Bashaw and bassist Joshua Homer, released their self-titled debut EP in 2011 on the independent Portsmouth, New Hampshire based label Burst and Bloom Records. [1]

The band relocated to [[Somerville, Massachusetts] prior to their sophomore release on Burst and Bloom, entitled "Chess Club." The EP premiered as an exclusive audio stream on AOL Music, who also showcased the band's music video for their track "One of the Four Humors" [2]

The single "Fine Things" was featured by the international music website AltSounds.com. [3]

AllAboutJazz.com's review webzine "Something Else!" lauded "Chess Club" as a "cinematic, Byrdsian groove." [4]

In the summer of 2012, Ruin/Renewal's cover performance and music video of "Broken Arrow" by Robbie Robertson was profiled by PureVolume.

The release was supported by performances throughout the Eastern United States, including The Living Room in New York City. [5]
