Lawrence Varner McCrobie[1] (November 01, 1980) is an liturgist of the Catholic Church. From January 2016 until November 2018, he served as Director of Music and Liturgy of Saint Christopher Catholic Parish in Radcliff Kentucky. He was also responsible for the Media Relations of the Parish, and responsible for the creation of the very first Parish Logo created in parish history [founded 1956]. Later, he served in the Music Department of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Community in Louisville, Kentucky. The parishes resided in the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Louisville[2].

Early life and Catholic formation

Lawrence Varner McCrobie was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, to Harry Robert, Sr. [Kingwood, WV] and Susan Elaine Evans-McCrobie [Elizabethtown, Kentucky]. He has 3 siblings; Shannon Marie [Caster], Harry Robert, Jr. -of which are older, and Bradley Joe, which is younger.

His family comes from Scotland and Ireland, and emigrated to the Kentucky Holy Land in the 1860s. He grew up in Elizabethtown, attended Central Hardin High School Cecilia, KY and then University of Louisville, Campbellsville University, Franciscan University of Stubenville, University of the Cumberlands and The Catholic University of America, part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington.

From 1999 to 2013, McCrobie studied at the University of Louisville, earning a degree in Music. 2013 to 2015 his studies were at Campbellsville University, follower by theological studies at Franciscan University in Ohio. In addition to the religious studies, McCrobie attended University of the Cumberlands obtaining a degree in Educational Leadership and Religious Studies. in the fall of 2019, McCrobie entered into Church Law [Canon Law Studies] at the Catholic University of America in Washington DC.

Lawrence was inducted into the Order of the Holy Sepulchre is a ceremony presided over by Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki, Archbishop Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee in 2018. He was given the position of Kentucky Section President for the Dioceses of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro. During that time the section honored Evansville Bishop Joseph M. Siegel and Indianapolis Archbishop Archbishop Charles Thompson.

Homeless and Food Ministry

In 2016 Lawrence was instrumental in bringing the Room in the Inn, a shelter program for those who find themselves in situations of homelessness, to the Radcliff, Kentucky; after a successful launch the previous year in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Since that time, Lawrence has been an advocate of Father McKenna Center in Washington, D.C., and the Catholic Charities USA mission in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Metuchen. Providing food and shelter for the homeless and hungry are of great important.

One Step Closer Catholic

The Evangelical ministry operation created by Lawrence in 2016. This ministry is dedicated to helping people walk closer to God though the witness of Christ's mission.
