William Hickley is referred to as England's worst living criminal. Mr. Hickley, who prefers to be called Bill Hix, claimed in questioning that he has killed several women, but later retracted the confessions, and has thus only been convicted of a small number of the murders he is believed to have committed.
Murders
[edit]William Hickley aka Hix, was sentenced to life for the murder of two young women in 1994, referred to as the Sandhurst murders. He has confessed to twelve murders, but he has not been convicted for dem due to the lack of evidence. The two women who were killed, Jean Eastman and Layla Leviston also lost their children in the event. No traces of them have been found, and Hix himself does not include them in his list of victims.
Trial
[edit]Mr. Hix Claimed in questioning that he has killed several women, but later retracted the confessions, and has thus only been convicted of a small number of the murders he is believed to have committed. Mr. Hickley's lawyer, Jack Hoffman, believes that several mistakes have been made during the investigation, and had stated that it should have been taken against the prosecutors for violating Mr. Hickley's human rights. The question of sanity has been a large part of the trial, but after several expert assessments, it was concluded that Mr. Hickely is sane.
Early Life
[edit]After graduating from elementary school, Hix became the apprentice of a gardener, and made a life for himself. At the age of 25, Hix's father died and his older brother inherited their childhood home, while Hix received a portion of money, which he used to buy a piece of land. Hix tried farming, but this failed and he sold it as a result. Hix purchased a house on what is now Goldenfleet Road, but inflation forced him to sell it. He still refused to move out and lived in a small apartment to the right of the house's ground floor. He also ran a nearby shop where he sold meat (which most speculate to have contained human remains).
