Meredith Coleman McGee is an Black American, Mississippi author, poet, business owner, and publisher. She was born July 20, 1963 in Los Angeles, California to Robert Joseph Coleman, a native of Gadsden, Alabama and Hazel Janell Meredith Coleman, a native of Kosciusko, Mississippi. Her given name was Meredith Sealey Coleman<1>. McGee presently lives in Jackson, Mississippi. She is the widow of William Earl McGee Jr.<2> McGee wrote a memoir about Mr. McGee entitled Every Inch Love WillBold text which is forthcoming in January of 2022.<4>

McGee hosts Community Library Mississippi's intellectual programs including the Jackson Book Festival, an annual poetry contest, a speaking series, book club meetings, and reading fairs. The non-profit's intellectual revolution inspires emerging writers as young as age six and provides a marketplace for authors, book retailers, and artist. The organization launched virtual programming in 2020.<3> McGee is the author of a memoir Married to SinBold text about Darlene Collier; a biography James Meredith: Warrior and the America that created himBold text, about her famous uncle; and OdysseyBold text, a collection of her poems and other writings; she wrote several children's books including Nashida: Visits the Smith Robertson MuseumBold text, Nashida: Visits the Mississippi State CapitalBold text, and Nashida: Visits Mississippi's Old Capitol MuseumBold text, My First Book SeriesBold text, and My Picture DictionaryBold text.
