Lee Chae-yeon (Korean: 이채연; born January 11, 2000), better known as the mononym Chaeyeon is a South Korean singer, dancer and songwriter. She finished 12th in Mnet's girl group survival show Produce 48 and debuted with Iz*One in 2018.
Early life
[edit]Lee was born on January 11, 200O. Her younger sister Chae-ryeong is part of the girl group Itzy and she also has a second younger sister, Chaemin. She attended Seocheon High School and graduated in February 2020.
Career

[edit]In 2013, Lee and Chaeryeong auditioned for Fantagio but failed to become trainees.
Lee appeares for the first time with her sister during the 3rd season fo K-pop Star.
In 2015, she was a contestant of the survival show SIXTEEN who eventually determined the members of girl group Twice.
In 2018, Lee represented her agency WM Entertainment during the survival show Produce 48 where she ranked 12th, allowing her to join the girl group Iz*one as a main dancer. Throughout the show, she was praised for her extraordinary dancing skills and is now considered one of the best dancers of her generation.
