Lolene (born March 12th 1982) sometimes called Miss Foo Foo is a British music artist, songwriter and performer.

History[edit]

Lolene was born in Bristol, UK and raised only by her Mother, she describes herself as “independent by default” for this reason. While in Bristol, Lolene began singing backing vocals for Martina Topley-Bird[1] (vocalist for Tricky) and also collaborated with local drum and bass pioneer Roni Size

After gaining attention in London as both a writer and vocalist, Lolene moved to Los Angeles and signed to Beluga Heights/Sony ATV after being discovered by multi-platinum hit record producer J.R. Rotem (Rick Ross, Rihanna, Britney Spears, Sean Kingston) and his manager Zach Katz. Initially hired as a writer, Lolene began crafting her sound with the help of Rotem and other A-list producers.[2]

Electrick Hotel - 2009[edit]

Lolene recently signed to Capitol/Emi US by the labels VP and President Steven Melrose and Nick Gatfield. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Lolene is completing her anticipated debut album Electrick Hotel due for release in late 2009.[2] She cites Madonna, Prince, Debbie Harry, Rick James, Seal, Grace Jones and Neneh Cherry as her musical influences. Lolene describes her sound as awkward POP as it’s hard to swallow and with no restraint. Likening her music to a pop cocktail, due to its eclectic versatility, Lolene play’s on her European dance roots and love of tongue in cheek lyrics. Her unreleased album Electrick Hotel is an invitation to “come inside my world for a while.” She describes and experiences a musical movement that is both audio and visually stimulating in "a world of heartbreaks and handbags."
