Christopher Maurice Brown (born May 5,1989)is an American singer, songwriter, actor and dancer from Tappahannock, Virginia, U.S. At the age of 16 Chris debuted his album, Chris Brown, in 2005. The album featured hit songs like Yo, Say Goodbye and Run It! which topped the charts of the Billboard Hot 100 for this debut single. He was the first lead male artist since Puff Daddy in 1997 to do so. Ever since the release of his debut album it has gone double platinum and sold over 2 million copies. In 2007, Chris Brown released his second album Exclusive. Great success came from this album as he had two hit singles, Kiss Kiss and With You, which came in as number 2 on on Billboard Hot 100 that year. Exclusive was another great album as it went platinum. By 2009 Chris had released his Graffiti, his third album that included his 8th top 20 hit, I Can Transform You that featured Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz. In the same ear Brown had pleaded guilty to felony assault charges after being accused of hitting his ex-girlfriend and singer, Rihanna. he was then sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service. Chris was affected negatively by fans and media for his actions. On March 18, 2011, Chris dropped his newest album F.A.M.E and debuted as number one on the Billboard 200. Hit singles like Yeah3x, Look At Me Now and She Aint You gave Chris his first number one album in the United States selling 270,000 copies in the first week alone.

Not only had Chris had a successful solo career, he has featured with many other artists like Big Sean, Jordin Sparks, Bow Wow and Justin Bieber. He also has appeared in a number of successful films like Stomp The Yard, The Takers and This Christmas. Brown has also made a name for himself with his dance moves that he shows off in a lot of his music videos. With this skill, Chris has been compared to other great dancers like Michael Jackson and famous R & B singer Usher, two of his boyhood idols.
