1980–1987[edit]

Born in Inglewood, California, to a single mother, Luis was raised in Puerto Rico after his mother opted for a change. Luis started his first mango business at the age of 7 to help supplement his mother's $3.50 an hour factory wage at Stryker, PR.[edit]

1988–1997[edit]

Over his childhood and teenage years, Luis learned to earn profits by adding value to his community across many different sectors such as vehicle detailing, landscaping and construction as an independent contractor.[edit]

1998–2001[edit]

After high school, Luis accomplished his first dream of joining the Army. During the first 3 years of active military service, Luis attended Infantry and Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA and served as a scout at Panmunjom, South Korea.[edit]

A quote from a Staff Sargent changed Luis perspective about not getting a formal education. He said, "if you don't work your mind, your body is going to pay for it". This single quote motivated Luis to use his GI Bill to enroll for a Business School with a major in accounting from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and continued military serves with the Puerto Rico National Guard.[edit]

2002–2006[edit]

On 2003, Luis deployed with the Puerto Rican National Guard Unit 92nd Infantry Brigade to fulfill the special mission of protecting the Military Sealift Command ships and mariners under Operation Noble Eagle.[edit]

After his return in 2004, Luis started a pizza restaurant (Porto Italia) in Arroyo, Puerto Rico at the age of 24 during his junior year in college. This is where Luis understood the importance of Cost Accounting and Marketing in running a profitable business. Unfortunately, after 3 years of operation, Luis decided to close shop due to increases in the cost of gas, food and Government regulation at the start of the 2006 Puerto Rico rescission.[edit]

In 2006, Luis Commissioned as a 2nd LT with the US. Army Reserves.[edit]

2007–2011[edit]

For the next 5 years, Luis worked in several Federal Government agencies to include the IRS, SSA and DCAA and his entrepreneur dreams went dormant.[edit]

2012–Present[edit]

2012 marked the start of Luis ventures into real estate. After inspiration from Matt Theriault, and Robert Kiyosaki, Luis started buying, fixing and renting several single family homes in Cobb County, GA.[edit]

After 3 years of real estate investing, Luis noticed that most opportunity to purchase distressed property had evaporated and decided to go back to his roots as an independent contractor in the trade of concrete restoration and beautification. This is how Concrete Design and Repair (CDR), was born.[edit]

CDR is a Certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and Hispanic American Business Enterprise with the city of Atlanta.[edit]
