Dmytro Romaniuk (born on May 19, 1987 in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian economist, manager and civil servant, Deputy Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration (since October 2019)[1], Ph.D. in Economics (since 2014).[2]

Public and political activity
[edit]Participation in elections
[edit]Romaniuk ran for the single mandate constituency № 83 by self-nomination during the election of national deputies of Ukraine on May 25, 2014.[7]
The day before election he withdrew his candidacy.
Incident with an “egg”
[edit]On September 24, 2004, Romaniuk being a first-year student threw an egg at the Prime Minister and candidate for President's post Viktor Yanukovych during his visit to Ivano-Frankivsk.[8]
The incident rapidly became popular in mass-media and caused many jokes throughout the presidential campaign.
In his later interviews Romaniuk explained the reason of his action. At that time he aimed to “damage image for mass-media”, which through censorship and pressure on students broadcasted fake support of Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych by local youth. Although the initiator of the “egg throw” believes that such methods of protest are inefficient and the country should be changed by systematic steps but not throwing eggs.
TEDxIvanoFrankivsk
[edit]In 2013 and 2015 Dmytro Romaniuk initiated and acted as the project manager of TEDx Ivano-Frankivsk after obtaining the special license[9] to hold the event.[10]
Other information
[edit]One of Romaniuk's achievements is attraction of German company “LEONI” to Ivano-Frankivsk region. This company constructed a plant for the production of components for the automotive industry in Kolomyia in 2016[11]. More than 5,000 new jobs will be created at the plant. At that moment Romaniuk held the position of Head of the Department for International Cooperation, European Integration, Tourism and Investments and led the relevant working group responsible for investor attraction.
