Nepal at FAR
Hello! Long time no see. FAR has two stages, the first one for reviews and improvements, the second one (called FARC) is for votes on whether to keep or remove the article from FA. Nepal's has just started so its time to work on improving the article. I think its main flaw is referencing. I can't help much with that, not many books on Nepal in my country :-( However, as part of the FAR process I've sent messages to some of the main contributors of the article and a couple of wikiprojects. Hopefully they can help improve the article. Greetings, --Victor12 03:23, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Challenges
I have few challenges for you. :-) Here, if you can find some reliable sources to the articles that I've crossed by when I browsed through Indo articles: Challenge #1, Challenge #2, and this one is my favourite: Challenge #3. Have fun! — Indon (reply) — 13:53, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
- ha ha ha - that is great!!!!!! luv it. afd or speedy? --Merbabu 14:11, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Regarding your message -
Thanks for the suggestion. Consider reading phpBB, then tell me how many links to their own site they reference...then tell me how many Futurion Power references.. compare the two? Who comes out worst? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nick Tompson (talk • contribs) 13:04, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Right back at you
Yeah, it's good to finally do a proper article instead of the copy and translate job that I've been doing with the Cabinets. I've been busy with Uni which was why I haven't been around much, but considering his importance as an Orde Baru figure and the lack of wiki article, I couldn't resist the temptation to do an article on Ali Murtopo (despite the fact that I'm swamped with assignments right now). Good job on organizing the categories for the different time periods of Indonesian history.Jakman 09:16, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

cheers - he he. --Merbabu 16:46, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Doesn't it just annoy you when people complete disregard what you say? =P MelicansMatkin 21:21, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Re: Bono
And you can see how much better the U2 article is then the Bono one ;). One of these days I'll have to dedicate myself to getting Bono to GA status - probably once I'm done rewriting psychiatry.
But that is an awesome tool! Thanks for showing that to me. I was soooo confused when I first clicked, but then I was like "oooooooh, pretty graphs" :). Cheers, Chupper 13:32, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
are these really necessary?
Interesting point you should raise that - I was wandering through Indonesian cabinet articles - you know 'Dwikora' cabinet - and the whole lead paragraph or sentence would have no mention of Indonesia - it could have been timbucktoo. I say they are better in than out - but I cannot quote a policy thingo that proves that they should be either - either SatuSuro 13:50, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- It was because (a) it was the subject itself and (b) distracting. My theory for links is, if in doubt, leave em out. One wants people to read the article at hand. --Merbabu 14:09, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- huh? i hope I understand that :| SatuSuro 14:55, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Re: Prabowo Subianto
This article is truly polemic, bordering on the outright lkieblous and slanderous. The wong cino have gone and attacked it with their political agenda without a thought for meritous NPOV. It reads like a penny-dreadful amateur pamphleteer. I'm slowly compiling a series of articles on key DPRD-DKI Jakarta politicians. Very good work to you Mas Merbabu. Re-visiting "appropriate" size of info boxes?
I think these anonymously added info boxes are too large, but maybe it doesn't really matter. I seem to recall discussing a similar issue in the context of Dutch East India Company.
- (diff) (hist) . . Emperor Kōmei; 21:10 . . (-3) . . 71.126.53.191 (Talk)
- (diff) (hist) . . Emperor Meiji; 21:07 . . (-1) . . 71.126.53.191 (Talk)
I assume you have no particular interest in either the emperors of Japan nor the Dalai Lamas, and that perhaps makes your viewpoint more relevant. Any thoughts about any one or more of the following "improved" pages?
- 20:58, 8 October 2007 ... Emperor Taishō
- 20:50, 8 October 2007 ... Hirohito
- 20:36, 8 October 2007 ... Akihito
- 20:30, 8 October 2007 ... Tsangyang Gyatso, 6th Dalai Lama
- 20:28, 8 October 2007 ... Kelzang Gyatso, 7th Dalai Lama
- 20:26, 8 October 2007 ... Jamphel Gyatso, 8th Dalai Lama
- 20:24, 8 October 2007 ... Lungtok Gyatso, 9th Dalai Lama
- 20:22, 8 October 2007 ... Tsultrim Gyatso, 10th Dalai Lama
- 20:20, 8 October 2007 ... Khedrup Gyatso, 11th Dalai Lama
- 20:17, 8 October 2007 ... Trinley Gyatso, 12th Dalai Lama
- 20:14, 8 October 2007 ... Thubten Gyatso, 13th Dalai Lama
At this point, I don't plan to involve myself in resolving what I perceive as a size issue; others are likely to be more than eager to make something of this. But the ambitious handiwork of this unidentified editor does cause me to wonder if there has been any evolution in your thinking about the varying sizes of illustrative material -- images, charts, etc. I've gone back to the VOC page several times since we fiddled with it, and I've developed this niggling interest in reducing the size of the info box -- not much, only slightly. But it hasn't felt like the matter was at all urgent.
What about placement? My views seem to be trending towards a preference for info boxes at the bottom of the page; but for reasons that are not yet clear, I do continue to prefer that the "History of Indonesia" info box remain positioned exactly where you placed it in the VOC text.
One final point: I'd like to see a gallery created for random VOC images; and I would have thought the Taiwan VOC logo photograph might be better featured in that setting.
Food for thought? --Ooperhoofd 22:25, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Centralised discussion
Could we please re-establish and confirm that issues central to an issue such as sources - and the issues arising from them is in a centralised place - the Bali Sea talk page is an example where any sense of credibility this project has has had a bit of a bump? - It would be appreciated if we realise that projects do have leigitmacy problems - and when outsider editors and admins come in and find discussions like that - they might wonder whether kalau semua orang disini gila or worse :) - cheers
- It is very important that we are not seen as over reliant upon third rate american based sources - this is the indonesian project?

Removed sample at I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Hi, I noticed you removed a music sample from I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. While I agree that the box is ugly (something is probably wrong with the box formatting), it's important that samples aren't removed without a good reason, as music samples that aren't used in an article are considered orphaned and eligible for deletion (and I think it's relevant to the article). I've created a new template, Template:Listen small horizontal, and I've attempted to add back the box in a nicer looking way, although I'm afraid there's no helping the big ugly play button. Let me know if this works for you. Dcoetzee 19:59, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Australia square
Did Harry do Oz Square? Looks like I forgot about it. thanks for reminding me, and glad you like the changes to the article. Have some interest in architecture and felt like expanding the article.

John Wayne Glover...
I'm querying your mass revert [1]. This article needs a big clean up and I will continue to do so. It's wording is not very encyclopedia at all. You need to explain why you've reverted all my changes or i will take it back. Please see WP:OWN. --Merbabu 01:25, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- The easy fix would be for me to revert back to before I started to contribute, as the original version was a direct copy and paste from a website. Cheers_Ad@m.J.W.C. 02:49, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also all the information that I have provided is from a book that I have provided as a reference, along with the websites that I listed, so everything is covered. I also have twice the amount of text to add to this article and photos of the scenes of the crimes that I took myself.. Cheers_Ad@m.J.W.C. 03:32, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- You seem to be good at removing sourced additions05:08, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
anyone would think that you had shares in wikipedia05:09, 17 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adam.J.W.C. (talk • contribs)
- I'm good at removing poor and redundant additions. I would be interested to see how they are written in the book. The rest of your messages are unclear so i cannot respond further at this stage. --Merbabu 05:13, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- When you say you would like to see how it is written in the book, is this becuase you think it is copied directly or made up05:16, 17 October 2007 (UTC)05:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Writing things like, "beneath his jovial exterior lurked one of the most twisted serial killers in the history of Australian crime" and "As Mrs Mitchelhill drew her last breath, Glover was back at home wondering out loud to his wife what all the fuss was about" doesn't seem like a very encyclopedic tone to me... Sarah 05:26, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay I will leave it at that. I wont complete the article as I had more decent stuff to contribute, its only half finished. I also never received a proper answer to the above question which I posted before. Also I hav noticed that this user thinks he has some sort of monopoly over articles related to Sydney 05:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
WHich question? And, you think I have a monopoly on articles over Sydney? Could you elaborate? Or better still, just stop dishing out sour grapes and concentrate on articles, not editors. No-one's saying that you need to stop. Just that you need to be more open to collaboration. --Merbabu 05:42, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- The question about the content in the book from where I got the information. There would also be not point in continuing with this article (for me that is). Cheers_Ad@m.J.W.C. 05:53, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
Teresa Teng's Indonesian Album
Good morning, Merbabu,
I'm Jeremy from Kuala Lumpur. I came across your edit in the article about Teresa Teng.
I grew up listening to her songs and so, her songs will always be a part of my life. When she passed away in 1995, I started collecting all of her recordings. At that time, I came across a recording in Bahasa Indonesia. The shopkeeper was unsure if it was really her. (At that time, there were a lot of singers trying to mimic her.)
Having read your edit, I regret now that I did not, at that time, buy the cassette.
I have not been able to find that recording again.
I would really appreciate it if you could send me mp3s of the songs in this album. It would really mean a lot to me. I understand that you are under no obligation and I appreciate your warning/notice "(Please note, there is a good chance I will ignore—or simply remove—what I perceive to be incivility, trolling or bullying)."
Thanks and regards, Jeremy Jeremysc 00:24, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

About Maratam
Hi,
The source is not "so external". It can be found in the same entry in other languages, eg. Indonesian, Japanese, etc., and the numbers are quite consistent.
Regards,
Qrfqr 02:36, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Correction: My bad. No reference in the Japanese version. Should be Indonesian, German, Spanish versions, etc.Qrfqr 02:43, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- How about this one? http://www.mongabay.com/igapo/2005_world_city_populations/Indonesia.html Qrfqr 02:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Hi! By the way, I think it will be good to attach a map to show the location of Mataram on Lombok. I found this one in Indonesian Wikipedia, but it's not under the English one. Could you please put it in the entry of Mataram? I think it is good for the entry of Lombok, too, since it also shows the major languages and settlements on Lombok. Cheers!
