Hi Micov (Cindy). Updated content for WebTrain is posted at User:GaryECampbell/Sandbox. Should the content also be updated at WebTrain ? It was suggested by a Wikipedian to create a section called Impact. I am a bit concerned the content is not properly written. Perhaps you can provide guidance? Also, the CEO and Chairman of WebTrain (Doug Hallett) is well published, noted scientist, senior scientific advisor to Environment Canada region. He discovered dixons in the Great Lakes (was on Front Page Challenge, Pierre Burton stormed off the set when he tried to make fun of his powder blue suit - hehe - I've seen the tape but it's pretty hard to find). On the more serious side, there's CBC interviews, many patents, he invented a process to safely separate PCBs, took ELI EcoLogic public, major business magazine articles, etc. Here's a few 3rd party links about him:

Doug Hallet is listed on the 1st reference as the CEO and director on the User:GaryECampbell/Sandbox page. He is also the Chairman.

Perhaps a few lines should be included about the CEO? What do you think? Comments appreciated, thanks in advance. GaryECampbell (talk) 18:23, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

I took a first attempt to write a reference to the CEO. have a peek at User:GaryECampbell/Sandbox pls? GaryECampbell (talk) 09:52, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Update to WebTrain[edit]

This company does seem to be worthy of an article. I've updated the WebTrain article to include the updates made on you're sandbox. I've also edited the wording a little to make it less advertisement. Cindy Flynn (talk) 05:40, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

  • oops - I did too, As of signing date/time, it looks like your edits are not present, but I never received a update warning. Also see my comment regarding "This article or section is written like an advertisement" tag on the WebTrain discussion page. Many thanks. GaryECampbell (talk) 07:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
  • still some funky stuff occuring with the logo, it was auto-removed on the sandbox page.

Thanks for your efforts Cindy, and sorry about the confusion over posting clashes. I have posted a new section - "Concerns about the Lead section" at User_talk:GaryECampbell - I invite you to take a whack at it. BTW, if you need assistance with technology articles, I'm your guy. :) —Preceding comment was added at 07:09, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I created a categorized list of references on my talk page that should be helpful when editing the article. GaryECampbell (talk) 07:41, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
  • oops. I forgot to give you a BIG Thank you. The article passed AfD. Shall we keep editing my sandbox and then have you move (copy) it ? GaryECampbell (talk) 08:05, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Todd Bentley[edit]

I'm not sure I understand - you took a picture of Todd Bentley for promotional purposes, released it for free use and uploaded it to Wikimedia...and now you are saying that it may be copywrited and have uploaded another one (maybe a picture, maybe a screencap) to be used instead? Do I have this right?EBY3221 (talk) 04:31, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

I cannot find an offcial cite claiming me as the author, thus the image will not be used. In simple terms, I can't prove I took it, and people are questioning me. Cindy Flynn (talk) 05:05, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

I left you a message on Bentley's talk page. See that pictures are back! EBY3221 (talk) 23:41, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Ummm[edit]

Re your warnings to another editor

  • Talk page convention is that messages are added to the bottom of the page
  • You need to sign on talk pages:
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you.
  • You need to recognise that no one owns an article - please review WP:OWN

Welcome to the Military history project[edit]

WP:ATI[edit]

Hi - I noticed that a redlink in my edit summary had turned blue and you had created the essay WP:ATI. It looks good. I have changed policy to view as policy has a specific meaning and reflects a "widely accepted standard" - see Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. To get it made a "policy" you would need to Propose a change in practice and seeking consensus for implementation of that change

I have also made some typing corrections to your essay. Regards --Matilda talk 05:14, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Oh. Thank you. I planned to go over the essay and fix any typing mistakes. That was just a rough idea of what the "ati" idea would look like. Cindy Flynn (talk) 05:59, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I feel subliminal messages coming from your comment. I feel like reading and understanding those essays will me make me a better editor. Cindy Flynn (talk) 06:30, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
    • No messages, subliminal or otherwise, intended other than the overt sharing of some essays I enjoyed and prompted because you ahd started your own.
I think the essays did help me to reflect on what editing wikipedia can be about and helped me to understand other editors - Mastadons is great! Enjoy them and enjoy contributing to the project. In the end to my mind it is all about contributing content and for me through adding content I always learn a lot. It was also the way I accumulated knowledge of the projecty and its far too numerous policies and guidelines. In my view the only ones that matter are WP:V WP:NOR supported by WP:RS - some reasonable behaviour helps too :-)
Best wishes - I am off on holidays now so won't be around for a while. regards Matilda talk 06:40, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

I belive I should post this here, a copy from a post I made on the "Todd Bentley" talk page.

Interesting. I've desided to review the wikipedia page on Adolf Hitler for more information editing well. Why read the article on hitler? Because even though he is reguarded as one of the most evil men who ever lived, if not the most evil, his article is relitively non-bias, with only a small section that reguards him as a disliked person. Included is his honorable military service to germany, his respected ability to lead, and his plans and ideals. It really gives me a new spin on editing biographs and just editing over-all. This could be quiet the learning experience for me. I'll really have to watch my bias. Cindy Flynn (talk) 06:43, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Does sound like the matrix doesn't it - or there was a movie called Tron I think that had all the characters colour coded. In my edit to you I had wikilinked in the edit summary and it showed up there. Though I think sometimes redlinks in the edit summary show blue anyway to spite me - but I clicked and there was your essay.  :-) Yes btw I do want you (and everyone else to be a good editor) it is a great project and it succeeds because of the contributions of lots of good editors! --Matilda talk 07:58, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

AfD comment or !vote keep[edit]

Hi - I just saw your edit to the AfD on my watchlist so thought would give you some suggestion around that. Hope you don't feel I am badgering you.

I don't think you have put forward a view before at the AfD. If you support the keeping of the article then you !vote Keep - we don't !vote because - well wikipedia isn't a democracty etc etc so we put an exclamation mark in front to make it clear we aren't voting hypocritical perhaps. We use comment after the first expression of what we feel about the article or in response to someone else or if we don't feel like expressing a view one way or the other and are just making an observation.

-) Matilda talk 06:49, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Oh no Matilda, no badgering at all. Not even a bother. You just want me to be a better editor. Thats why your an admin. xD Cindy Flynn (talk) 07:00, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
