Beata Pawlikowska (born June 11 1965 in Koszalin) – a Polish traveller, writer, journalist, translator, photographer and book illustrator.

Radio and television[edit]

In 1990 she began cooperation with Polskie Radio Koszalin, where she led the English language course, and then - after moving to music editorial board - her own music program. In 1992, she went to London, where she broadcasted music correspodence for ''Tam-Tam'' audition for Programme III of the Polish Radio. In 1993 she returned to Poland and started working in Radio Kolor, leading her own auditions as well as hits chart for the elderly with Grzegorz Wasowski. In 1994 she led a music programme called ''Be-bop-a-lula'' in TVP1. In 1995 she returned to Programme III where she continued leading the programme with Grzegorz Wasowski, but with the changed title, i.e ''Lista przebojów dla oldboyów''. She also led the ''Internoc'' audition. Between 1995 and 1998, she led 7 editions of Programme III Hits Chart - Lista Przebojów Programu Trzeciego. In April 1999 she started working with Radio Zet, where she led an audition about travelling called ''Świat według blondynki'' for 5 years. From October 2004, she led a programme ''Świat według Beaty Pawlikowskiej'' broadcasted by Programme I of the Polish Radio. However, in December 2005, she returned to Radio Zet with the audition ''Świat według blondynki'' which she led to 20th of March 2016, and for which she was nominated for Grand Press award. In 2003, she won first place in the two categories of Media FM.net voting for radio personality ''Winner of Eter 2003'' and ''radio gems''. From October 2th 2016 she has been leading a programme ''Blondynka w samo południe'' in Open.fmradio.

She is the author of the adventure reality-show called ''Zdobywcy'' aired on TVP2 (2004) and TVP1 (2005, together with Krzysztof Wielicki). She also created the audition ''Drzewo podróżnika'' in the online Radio Baobab. Between 2007 and 2008, she and Krzysztof Skiba were hosts of a programme ''Podróże z żartem'' and in 2009 she led a programme ''Zagadkowa blondynka'' aired on TVP2.

Travelling, press and books[edit]

Her first book was written when she was 18. It was a novel ''from the stream of magical realism'' which was read during the episodes in Programme III of the Polish Radio. For a few months in a year, she travels around the world, mainly to South America, where she records the life of indigenous people. According to Wojciech Cejrowski, she was the first woman to walk on foot through ''the worst gungle in the world'' Darién, which is situated in the border area of Panama and Colombia. He described it in his book ''Gringo wśród dzikich plemion''. As written in the book, Cejrowski and Pawlikowska were the first Poles to ever cross Darién.

Beata Pawlikowska describes her journeys in the colummns which she writes for magazines and in many of her books. She promotes the Wu Xing, the Five Elements nutrition principles. 

Her books are illustrated with her own photographs and drawings. She wrote columns for ''Głos Pomorza'', ''Głos Szczeciński'', ''Słowo Polskie - Gazeta Wrocławska''. Also, her articles and photographs were published in many magazines and papers, such as ''Gazeta Wyborcza'', ''Rzeczpospolita'', ''Polityka'', ''Playboy'', ''Poznaj świat'', ''Podróże'', ''Focus'', ''Viva!'' or ''Cosmopolitan''. She prepared drawings for Anna Wyszkoni's album ''Pan i pani''.

Two years in a row (2001, 2002) she won a competition for the best reports published in Poland, organized by the Touristic Journalism Club of the Polish Association of Journalists.

In May 2010, she won the prize for ''persistent promoting of fashion for travelling''.

Współpracowała jako tłumacz z wydawnictwem „Egmont” oraz II Programem TVP, tłumacząc listy dialogowe głównie do dokumentalnych filmów muzycznych. Współpracuje także z pismem „National Geographic”.

In May 2013, the Foundation for Specialist Rescue with the Use of Dogs "Irma" awarded Beata Pawlikowska the honorary title of the Foundation's ambassador.

Private life [edit]

A graduate of the II Secondary School in Koszalin. She undertook studies in the field of Hungarian and English studies, which she soon abandoned. For some time she worked, among others as a computer operator, secretary, translator and English teacher. In London, she also worked as a cleaner and waitress. In 1994 she married Wojciech Cejrowski in church, but the marriage was not registered by the head of the civil registry office. In 2004, through media, Pawlikowska reported that they were not together anymore. According to the information provided by the person concerned, the marriage in the episcopate court was cancelled. She has no kids.
