Anna Gertrude Hall(1882-1967) was a well known children and adolescents author. Honored with a Silver Newbery Medal in 1941 for her novel Nansen.

Anna Gertrude Hall was born in West Bloomfield, NY to Myron Edwin and Anna (Sterling) Hall. She received an A.B in 1906 from Leland Stanford Junior University. She also earned a B.L.S in 1916 from New York State Library School. Hall worked at Stanford University as a librarian and cataloger between the years of 1906 and 1962. [1] [2]

Eleanor Jewett(1890-1967) [1]a New York native born in 1890, dedicated her life to writing children's literature. As she was doing a Master's degree in comparative literature at Columbia University, Mrs. Jewett became highly interested in the Medieval period. The Hidden Treasure of Glaston written by Eleanor Jewett herself received a Newberry Honor in 1947.

Ingrid Law(1970) a published author of Young Adult books.Well known for her book Savvywhich was named a Newbery Honor book in 2009.

Ingrid law was born in Northen New York on May 1st 1970. At the age of six Ingrid and her family moved to Boulder, Colorado.[1] Ingrid has done everything from selling shoes, worked in bookstores, aswell as helping people get jobs and stocking eggplant burgers.[2]

Many Critics found the book to be this type to say a lot with just a few words. Emily from Squeaky Clean Reviews states that "It is very perceptive for such a short book, and deserves multiple readings to discover the many layers"[2]
