Mukwayi Moris Scofield (born on 27 november 1995) , known as Maurice, and also nicknamed BookWorm (in reference to his enthusiasm to Science and Mathematics ) is a Ugandan Academician Self taught computer programmer and aspiring Chemical Engineer known for his volunteerism and non profit collaborations in the South African Education system. Over the years, he has worked with numerous figures in the field granting necessary help to students less privileged in the fields of Mathematics and Physical Sciences.He has been offering free tutoring to students that have proven a promising talent or skill of meritorious achievement. He gained fame when he scored a stunning mark in his science subjects after a preceding non-promising mark and as a way of giving back he started helping other students to improve in their grades through one-to-one and online lessons.


Moris has been tutored by a number of academicians including Mathematicians, Chemists and Physicists one of them, and the major reason for his academic excellence being Nyirenda "Di'Brains" Miyanda, a Zambian Medical Physicist and Mathematician together with whom he has continued helping students from all over the continent requiring help and are less endowed financially but hold a promising future in science and Mathematics.

he has taken part in a number of online petitions and academic societies including Khan Academy and Codecademy and strongly worked in collaboration with leading academic platforms within South Africa to make study materials not only easily accessible but lay manly understandable by those who use them. He was a major contributor to the 2016 Sci-Bono Science Discovery Center DNA Detective innovative project and Astonishing Anatomy.

Early Life[edit]

Scofield was born in the summer of 1995 in Jinja town, Uganda to Mrs Mugala Esther Hope and W Khalid. He grew up on the outskirts of the city together with both his siblings (Shuby And Alpha) and later was moved to the CBD from where he was admitted to Iganga District at a public school from where he would later get a Secondary scholarship to study at St.Lawrence crown city campus, a sciences-only college among other campuses under the same name. His entrance in the college was as a result of him displaying a great level of academic achievement and active participation in the school's extra-curricular activities.

Prior to completion of his Twelfth grade, Together with his family, Moris moved to South Africa to finish his secondary school education as well as attend further education later on.

He is currently studying towards his B.Sc.Eng in Chemical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.


Childhood[edit]

Moris exhibited extraordinary analytical abilities from an early age. He started learning Computer programming while he was only 8. nevertheless, his interest in programming faded as it overlapped with his love of numbers and focused solely on developing his mathematical skills and continues to.

Moris M Scofield has been tutoring fellow students ever since him self was in lower grades as a way of keeping himself well versed with the content and claims it always helped score high marks.
